The ICES team visits the women of the maternity home and different communities.

As part of its work in coordination with the Health Ministry, the ICES team has a program of workshops and talks with the Casa Materna in Estelí which hosts expectant mothers from rural communities in the last weeks of their pregnancy. During visits to the Casa Materna, the team engages in workshops with the mothers staying there about the future emotional development of their children from childhood. In addition, ICES explains useful strategies for the women to help them manage their emotions positively. Out in the rural communities, the ICES team helps local families promote harmonious family coexistence by working with them on the importance of self-care, managing conflict resolution in the family, developing emotional intelligence and thinking about their and their families’ lifetime project.
