Start of secondary education classes

The Estelí Women’s School started the new academic year at the end of January and currently has a total matriculation of arund 240 students of whom around a 140 are women. The school offers two courses. One is for adult students over the age of 21 to study their baccalaureate over three years. The other is for students aged 17 and over to study their baccalaureate over four years. Both courses are supervised by the Ministry of Education. The classes are night classes with women only classes scheduled for Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays while mixed classes with mainly male students are scheduled for Thursdays and Fridays. A couple of sections of mixed classes are also held on Wednesdays.
