Medical brigade to Rosario Abajo
On February 10th, Superemos provided logistical support and help with medicines for a medical brigade organized with the local Health Ministry (MINSA) and the medical faculty of the local campus of the National Autonomous University (UNAN) to deliver care to the rural community of Rosario Abajo in the municipality of La Trinidad. Four UNAN students received patients and gave preventive health education talks. Four MINSA medical staff (three general medical practitioners and a pediatrician) delivered care to 30 children and 78 adults. They were supported by Karen Villarreyna and Maria Felix Castillo of the Superemos program addressing domestic violence who gave psychological care to 9 patients . The brigade accompanied other MINSA personnel carrying out programs to address reproductive health, carrying out infant vaccinations and also control of mosquito borne diseases.
