Medical brigade Chagüite Blanco

On March 10th, Superemos provided support to a medical brigade to the rural community of Chaguite Blanco in the municipality of La Trinidad south of the city of Estelí. The local health authority of MINSA in Estelí again organized a team of specialists from local hospitals as well as general medical practitioners from the health center in La Trinidad. This area is not accessible for the local health authority’s mobile clinic however the brigade did offer specialist care to 37 patients for internal medicine, 29 patients for dermatology, 9 patients for appraisal by a surgeon, 26 patients for pediatrics and 20 patients for obstetric and gynecological attention. There was also support for patients from an orthopedist and a dentist and general medical practitioners. The brigade was also able to offerr laboratory tests as well, ultrasound exams and the service of a portable x-ray unit. Students from the local campus of Nicaragua’s National Autonomous University helped the brigade attend a total of over 300 patients. Superemos psychologist Karen Villarreyna and legal workers Maria Felix Castillo accompanied the brigade along with two social works students from the local campus of Nicaragua’s national university.
