Project against domestic violence and its activities in the month of August

During August, the ICES program coordinated with the National Police in the municipality of San Nicolás to plan a visit to the community of Guingajapa, where domestic violence has increased and become more evident.

Also, 17 women from different communities of Esteli and Jinotega participated in the workshop in the Casa Materna to develop understanding of the importance of self-esteem.

Our team also visited the health post in the community of Guingajapa for a meeting with women health brigadistas and midwives from the community, as well as officials of Ministry of the Family and Ministry of Health. In this workshop, each institution explained their respective functions and responsibilities in the area of gender violence, domestic violence and sexual abuse, as well as discussing appropriate techniques care and prevention.
