Preventive health program for women students
Superemos president Gladys Ruiz González runs the foundation’s preventive health care program which includes twice weekly classes with the students of our secondary education program for women on issues of personal development, gender equity and preventive health care, especially reproductive health. The program also includes weekly visits by gynaecologist Dr. Maria Munguía from the local health center to discuss health issues with the program’s women students. Gladys assists participants in the Superemos community programs with low cost medicines, and in cases of hardship, the foundation also helps patients, for example requiring laboratory tests not available in the public health system. or transport costs to consults in one of the hospitals in Managua.
