Preventive dental health program
In November despite the many difficulties caused by measures addressing the Covid-19 pandemic we worked with the Ministry of the Family, the Health Ministry and local pre-school educators to continue the preventive dental health program in preschools in the urban area of Estelí. This program is a project designed by Boston University’s Henry S. Goldman School of Dental Medicine to demonstrate the effectiveness of quarterly fluoride varnish application in preventing dental caries in infants and young children as part of an integral dental health education program. This November, the project activities were again coordinated by the Ministry of the Family in Estelí benefiting a total of 573 children in the eleven preschools currently participating in the program. Superemos provides logistical and material support to facilitate this program.
