Medical brigades in March, April and May
Superemos continues to work closely with the local Health Ministry in support of medical brigades providing care to rural areas. In March, April and May we provided support to three large brigades organized by the SILAIS local health authority, one in San Nicolas in March and one in La Trinidad in April and one in Condega in May. Each of these brigades included a laboratory testing service with mobile x-ray and ultrasound, gemeral medical care and specialists in dermatology, pediatrics, surgery, nephrology, neurology, urology, internal medicine, orthopedics, ophthalmology and gynecology. The brigades also included dentists and specialists in natural medicine.
In all the visits to these different municipalities, the health ministry assisted people from more remote communities with transport. In San Nicolás the brigade provided care to over 1600 patients from rural communities and the Superemos ICES team providing psychological and social work support to 16 patients. In La Trinidad, the brigade provided care to over 1500 patients and the Superemos ICES team provided psychological and social work support to 15 patients. In Condega, the brigade provided care to over 1300 patients and the Superemos ICES team provided psychological and social work support to 8 patients.
We are very grateful to our friends and supporters for making it possible for our foundation to enhance the work of these local medical brigades in providing care to rural communities in their respective municipalities.
