Exchange visit with team from Bonanza

At the end of June we received the visit of a team from the Municipal Mayor's Office of Bonanza with whom we had an exchange on the issues of domestic violence and social communication. The first workshop was dedicated to the topic of how we address domestic violence and how our team at the Superemos Foundation can coordinate with the relevant instances in Bonanza to support them in relation to this issue. Our psychologist Karen Villarreyna and our lawyer and educator Maria Felix Castillo explained the development of our work in the three municipalities of Estelí, La Trinidad and San Nicolás during the last ten years in close coordination with MINSA, MIFAN, the Public Defender's Office and the Public Prosecutor’s office, with our National Police and the courts. We stressed the multidisciplinary approach of our work and the prioritization of the work of strengthening skills and awareness in attitudes with nurses and doctors in rural communities. It was agreed that we will organize one or more online meetings together to prepare a visit by our team to Bonanza. That visit is now scheduled for August 25th.

Then, we held a workshop dedicated to the work of communication with special reference to said work in support of the development of the popular economy Maryolit Arostegu and Melida Mora from the education and training team of our training project on the use of audiovisual media for the internet in Managua made a presentation on their educational experience with young people in Managua. Additionally, Noel Aviles explained his work as a communicator of the Cooperative Center in León and the structure of cooperativism in the context of the popular economy comrade.

Educator Winnie Narvaez explained her experience with the Nicaraguan Social Economy Communication group and also presented as an important topic to take into account the experiences of the development of the methodology in the context of education for social communication. We agreed to follow up on the topic of communication in support of the development of Nicaragua’s popular economy in combination with the topic of genuine cooperation based on a methodology developed by the Abaco in Network team (https://abacoenred.com /) with which Fundación Superemos maintains cooperative relations
