Dr. Godoy visited Nicaragua to provide free optometry care and donate free eyeglasses

One Swedish optometrist, representing VISTA with assistants from Nicaragua, worked for 8 days in Estelí, Condega, Juigalpa and León.

Population attended: 619 patients were examined in 8 days, (an average of 77.4 patients of day) of which 417 (67.4%) were women, and 202 (32.6%) men. Only 33 (5.3%) between the ages of 8 – 19 visited our clinics.

1373 pair of eyeglasses were donated. 78 pairs (5.7%) were negative eyeglasses to correct myopia and were used to see far.
