Application of fluoride varnish in Estelí community preschools

Thanks to support from Boston University’s School of Dental medicina and the Nicaraguan authorities Superemos has continued to facilitate quarterly applications of fluride varnish as part of the local Health Ministry’s preventive dental health care program. This november the program applied fluoride varnish for 352 boys and girls of different ages and also distributed to another 239 children dental kits consisting of toothbrushes and toothpaste so as to promote good oral hygiene from the early stages of childhood.

These activities are carried out quarterly to promote the importance of proper dental hygiene and thus prevent diseases that can be caused by dental infections. For this reason, apart from the applications and the kits, talks and dynamic games are offered so that the children benefiting from the program can establish a good relationship with dental medicine professionals.
