Who We Are
The Superemos Foundation is a non-profit foundation, registered with the Nicaraguan government since 1999. Based in our community center in Estelí, we work to promote health and education in northern Nicaragua with an emphasis on female empowerment.
Our Programs
The first step to positive change is a feeling of personal value and well being, so our programs focus on helping people feel more confident about themselves and their abilities.
SECONDARY EDUCATION
The Estelí Women's School works to improve the lives of low-income women in Estelí and rural areas of northern Nicaragua through advancement of education.
CULTURAL ARTS EDUCATION
The Sones Segovianos cultural arts school provides music, dance and art education to children from low-income families in the municipality of Estelí.
ADDRESSING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
The foundation's Intervention, Change and Education Service (ICES) works to address the issue of domestic violence in and around Estelí.
VOCATIONAL SKILLS TRAINING
We provide skills training of various kinds, including sewing, shoe making, jewelry making, handicrafts, and ceramics.
